Discover one of the near places to the gates which connected the inside of the walled enclosure of Montoro together with the Guadalquivir river.
Torremocha Arch
Torremocha Arch was erected in the second half of the 18th century under consideration of a neighbour who lived at Frailes street (it is Santos Isasa street nowadays).
Therefore, this is not an Arab construction, nor is it the original gateway out of the wall of the village, although it is true that there must have been an exit from the wall either through the current street, or through a very nearby place.
For a long time ago, this type of arches that exist in Montoro urbanism correspond to top floors or rooms that are raised on the public road due to urbanistic advantage.
Currently, the wall and the desmochada tower (this is the name of the passage origin) exist in the courtyard of a private house of this street which is attached to the walls of the arch.
